While others are looking forward for a horrifying new season of the American Horror Story, what more could be terrifying than hearing the news that Kathy Bates and Angela Bassett will be part of the horror thriller TV Series for one whole season? You surely heard that right! Are you ready for another hocus pocus? ‘Coven’ will be the title for the third season of FX’s spooky horror drama series and this new season promises a time-tripping tale of witches and voodoo priestesses set in the heart of New Orleans. And aside from that fact, what is more sought after in this new episode is the stellar cast becoming bigger with a big boost from two of the award winning actresses on television: Kathy Bates and Angela Bassett. We have learned about this great news when the two actresses joined American Horror Story’s Jessica Lange and Sarah Paulson and executive producer Tim Minear on a panel at the Television Critics Association summer press tour held last Friday. Since they have just started shooting last week, they can’t tell the viewers yet about their roles on AHS. Bates plays Madame LaLaurie, a notorious 19th-century socialite who tortured and murdered black slaves in Louisiana. And Bassett's character is rooted in history, too: She's Marie Laveau, a voodoo priestess who also lived in 19th-century New Orleans. We will be finding out more about their characters when we watch the Coven season of the show.
