Charlie Hunman has been both criticized and praised for getting the controversial “Christian Grey” role for the upcoming Fifty Shades of Grey movie that is bound for release sometime in November. It was a few months ago when it was announced that the Sons of Anarchy actor is going to play the role as the wealthy CEO Christian Grey along with Dakota Johnson who is said to portray the role as Anastasia Steele, Grey’s love interest in the bestselling erotic novel written by E.L James. Breaking news hit us right now saying that the Sons of Anarchy star just gave up the sexy title role of Christian Grey and fans and critics aren’t buying the studio’s reason for his controversial exit. Was "Fifty Shades of Grey" too hot for Charlie Hunnam? “The filmmakers of FIFTY SHADES OF GREY and Charlie Hunnam have agreed to find another male lead given Hunnam’s immersive TV schedule which is not allowing him time to adequately prepare for the role of Christian Grey,” Universal Pictures announced on October 12. On October 11, the actor already started filming the season 6 finale of his FX TV series, and this happened a day before Universal Pictures released their statement, but "50" fans claim the hunky star likely left the blindfolds behind after he received major backlash over the casting. As for Hunman, he said that he was overwhelmed when he got the role but admitted that it isn’t just for him. "There are so many fans of that book and I know that on the surface, I’m probably not what everybody imagined," the actor admitted. "Because reading is so personal and people bring a character to life in their imagination, they feel ownership over that character. That’s daunting if I allowed myself to think about it too much. I’m taking it very seriously and intend to explore the nature of who this character is, what motivates him — and also dress up nice and look good in those suits."
