Cancer is one of the several hereditary diseases there is, and it is not quite impossible if Angelina Jolie is at risk for having breast cancer when her aunt died of breast cancer herself. Those people who have a family history of such killing disease are more likely to inherit them as well, even if they don’t want it to. Weeks ago, we have heard of the news of Angelina Jolie undergoing a double mastectomy as preventive measures for breast cancer. It was just two weeks after the Hollywood actress revealed that she had underwent the procedure in order to lower her risk for breast cancer when her aunt has passed away after battling the disease. Ron Martin, Angelina’s uncle, confirmed that his wife, Debbie Martin, died last May 26 due to breast cancer. “Angelina has been in touch throughout the week and her brother Jamie has been with us, giving his support day by day," he said. Debbie Martin was the younger sister of Jolie’s late mother, Marcheline Bertrand, who died in 2007 at the age of 56, this time because of ovarian cancer. It seems that Jolie’s family is really prone to having cancer so the actress is probably thinking that she might get the same as she grows old, but having double mastectomy, do you think it’s the best they that she did? We have found out that Angelina Jolie learned that she carries the BRCA1 breast cancer gene that is the reason why she had a preventive double mastectomy. She said in an essay she made for the New York Times, "I can tell my children that they don't need to fear they will lose me to breast cancer.” "We have seen Angelina a number of times since Debbie was diagnosed with breast cancer and Debbie and I were both very proud of her recent decision to have the double mastectomy," Ron Martin added, "and to do everything she can to keep her family from having to go through what we've been through."
