Saturday Night Live 13th turn as host is John Goodman but it wasn’t seem to be a good break for John after the talk show’s ratings went down on the previous episode. Goodman was joined by musical guest Kings of Leon but it only drew a 4.5 in the metered markets households. This was probably the most down ratings of the show ever since it started for a new season. The last episode was down of about 8% from last week’s episode where the show was hosted by Paul Rudd with the teen superstars One Direction as musical guests. Was it the guest or the host that marked the ratings down? They might just be giving all the blame to John Goodman but it might not be just his fault after all, though he can be one of the factors. If you will only make a review of what happened in the show, in the 56 metered markets, last night’s SNL posted a 2.1 in adults 18-49, down 16%. In primetime, the rebroadcast of NBC‘s highly rated The Sound Of Music live special did a 0.7 in 18-49 and 3.2 million viewers. While nowhere near the ratings for the original telecast, the three-hour special delivered NBC’s highest rated and most watched Saturday in a month. Let’s just see what happens to the ratings next week when the show presents its new host along with new set of musical guests.
