Nikita, an American drama TV Series which airs at The CW TV network, ends the run of the show with its final six-episode installment which was renewed just this week. The series is based on a French film with the same name and it stars Maggie Q as Nikita, a spy and assassin who has gone rogue. Viewers already expected The CW to announce the finale season of Nikita sometime this year and as expected, it was announced today that the renewal for the six-episode installment of Nikita will mark the spy drama’s first installment as well. The idea came after Nikita creator Craig Silverstein, who has a hot new pilot, Turn, at AMC, closed a deal for one last short order. The final chapter of Nikita is yet to be scheduled but it is said to bring the series in full circle, with Nikita once again in-action and on the run as a hunted rogue for a murder she didn’t commit and will try to clear out her name and at the same time spare the people she loves from the mess she has caused. This planned pickup of the series is the idea of Mark Pedowitz, CW’s President, in an effort to give the network’s longtime running drama series a satisfying ending for all his fans. Besides, Nikita also ranked as one of the CW’s top series on social media and it definitely has a great plot so no wonder fans like it so much. It also has been a strong international seller for producing studio Warner Bros TV.
