Longtime executive producers Ken Warwick and Nigel Lythgoe are being fired from American Idol, the longtime running reality singing competition, in a continuing bid to win back viewers and shake up the show. Fox TV Network did not say anything about this report but the first report came out sometime in May which states that there will be some major changes in the next season of the show, and this is probably one of these major changes that they are talking about aside from the wipe out of the judging panel from Season 12. If you can still remember a couple of weeks ago, Idol judges Randy Jackson, Nicki Minaj and Mariah Carey have already announced their departures, leaving Keith Urban behind. It was Lythgoe and Warwick who first launched the show together during its inaugural season in 2002 and both of them also worked on its predecessor, Britain’s Pop Idol. For those who have recalled it, Lythgoe already left American Idol in 2008 and just went back in 2010. Their terminations from the show arrive amid flux for the talent competition after alternative programming chief Mike Darnell's sudden Memorial Day weekend exit. The show’s initial plan is to assemble three former Idol contenders to be part of the judging panel and this includes Jennifer Hudson and Kelly Clarkson. This is probably going to be exciting, with former Idol contestants on the panel list, the contestants will probably feel more comfortable with them.
