All the fans of Game of Thrones probably grieved and mourned when Sansa’s direwold she named “Lady” died when Joffrey ordered to kill it. But in real life, you will perhaps be glad to hear that Sansa’s direwolf is alive and as a matter of fact, Game of Thrones star Sophie Turner even adopted it. It turns out that behind the scenes, Sophie Turner took Lady (real name: Zunni) home with her after the tragic event. "Growing up I always wanted a dog, but my parents never wanted one. We kind of fell in love with my character's direwolf, Lady, on set," Turner said. "We knew Lady died and they wanted to rehome her. My mum persuaded them to let us adopt her." The direwolf was killed during the first season of the fantasy drama TV Series. Did you all know that during this first season, Mahlek Northern Inuit dogs were used to portray the puppy direwolves, and when filming wrapped, all the actors got the chance to take the dogs home. Turner was able to, and Isaac Hempstead Wright wanted to but already had several at home. It was probably fun owning a real direwolf since they are definitely adorable, especially the ones which portrayed the real wolves which came out during the second season when the Starks finally showed their real loyal companions. "We did some testing and at a certain point they look unreal," co-executive producer Dan Weiss said. "We reached a nice balance with them. And frankly, no matter how much money you spend on CG wolves — and we've seen the best that's out there, state of the art, and some of it looks great — it still doesn't look, move, and feel like a real animal." It’s just sad that we wouldn’t be seeing some of them in the next seasons of Game of Thrones.
