Six weeks after her unexpected knee surgery, Skyfall actress Judi Dench recovered very fast and was even able to walk the Red Carpet on Oscars. Seemingly, Agent 007, James Bond, has nothing on Dame Judi Dench after what she has survived. The Oscar winner Judi Dench impressed everybody on the October 16 premiere of her new film Philomena not just because of her fashionable attire but also on how she smoothly walked on the red carpet without a cane as if she did not undergo knee surgery six weeks ago. "When I had it done on September 6, I said to my surgeon, 'On October 16 I will walk up a red carpet unaided', and so I did," Dench said on an interview. "You set your mind to a goal and go for it." The 78-year-old actress had her right knee completely replaced and she said she’s starting to realize that she is definitely getting of age and obviously growing old. But after the surgery and some therapy, she felt younger and stronger. "I'm not feeling my age at all. I am about 43, a tall willowy blonde 43-year-old with long legs," said Dench, who insists she has no plans of cutting back on her workload anytime soon. "I don't want to slow down at all. We don't say the word 'retirement' in our house. 'Old' and 'retired' are totally banned. Energy keeps me going." Her movie, Philomina, hits movie theatres next month on November 7.
