Host Ryan Seacrest of American Idol repeatedly teased the viewers this week that a ‘twist’ is about to happen in one of the episodes of the reality TV Series singing competition. At first, I thought it was just about the big announcement that the show will reveal regarding Amber Holcomb’s expected victory but on the contrary, that wasn’t the case. As American Idol winds down to the final weeks of its 12th season, probably one of the most interesting things that caught the attention of every viewer each week is on how Fox Network interestingly manage to fill a 60-minute timeslot each week ahead of the approximately 30 seconds it takes to announce who is being eliminated on that week. In last Thursday’s episode of American Idol, the filler fluff came first in the form of a group performance of Alicia Keys’ “Girls on Fire” which honetly did not pull the excitement because it was pretty obvious that the audience just got bored of the performance. And they say that the only contestant who successfully named five things about herself in 20 seconds was Amber. I don’t know if it was just a coincidence but if you have watched the episode of the show, then you have seen there that Amber was the first finalist whom Seacrest pulled on stage to revisit her performances from Wednesday. Randy defended Idol’s Chosen One, chastising Iovine, “It’s about the singing!” Everyone has their eyes on Amber but we can never really tell what happens on the season finale so just tune in.
