Three great animated comedy TV Series are included in this year’s Emmy Winners and among the list are the quirky sketch comedy “Portlandia” of IFC, Fox’s iconic longtime hit “The Simpsons” and Cartoon Network’s colorful oddball series “Adventure Time”. All three TV shows belonged to the list of early Creative Arts Emmy Winners, juried winners to be exact. What do you mean when you say “Juried” winners? It means awarding more than one Emmy in each category and it applies in the three animated series. It is possible to award more than one Emmy in each category because there is what they call panel of professionals which screens all of the entrants in certain categories. After deliberations, the peer group votes, and only those with unanimous approval win. "Portlandia" and CBS's "The 55th Annual Grammy Awards" are among the juried winners in the Outstanding Costumes for a Variety Program or Special category. Meanwhile, "Adventure Time," "The Simpsons," and "Disney TRON: Uprising" are three of the series in for Outstanding Individual Achievement In Animation.
