It was a tough episode for The Vampire Diaries cast this week especially for real-life lovers Damon Salvatore and Elena Gilbert as their relationship was tested and almost got destroyed. It was one of those eye-opening episodes of the hit The CW vampire drama series wherein Elena (role played by Nina Dobrev) was able to lean some of the history behind the Augustine vampires, including the fact that her boyfriend Damon (Ian Somerhalder) was locked up and tortured for five years. Can you imagine how long could that have been? Apart from the reason that he was being tortured and held a prisoner, Damon also revealed that one of the reasons why he escaped is to take his revenge and kill every generation of Whitmores, with the exception of one person per family, which also happened to include Aaron’s (Shaun Sipos) parents and aunt.
