Hulu is obviously making great and getting big with all its subscription biz for Anglophiles as it makes a multiyear pact or deal with BBC Worldwide North America that it is going to add 2,000 episodes more for Hulu Plus. The 144 BBC titles covered under the deal will give Hulu Plus one of the largest collections of British imports in the U.S., including: “Doctor Who,” “Top Gear,” “Fawlty Towers,” and “Blackadder.” Even if the terms of the deal were not disclosed to the public to know, still, it is good news for the fasn of the above mentioned TV shows that they are actually coming back on screen and this time in a top level management. Meanwhile, the Agreement is not just exclusive to Hulu; BBC has streaming deals in the States with Netflix and Amazon.com as well. This new BBC deal is part of a larger attempt for the Internet TV company to boost its base of paying all its subscribers, which is now worth 4 million, even if they already have a joint venture with some of the largest companies like Comcast’s NBC Universal, the 21st Century Fox and Walt Disney Co. Starting this coming Wednesday, the subscribers of Hulu Plus can already begin streaming “Doctor Who” and spinoffs “The Sarah Jane Adventures” and Torchwood as well as national history and nonfiction programming including the “Blue Planet” and Crash Course.
