If she hasn’t got the role before, Jessica Walter will make sure that she will become part of “Arrested Development” this time around. Way back 2003, the Emmy award-winning actress read the script for the hit American comedy TV Series of Fox and decided that she wanted the role of Lucille Bluth, the monstrous matriarch of the quirky sitcom’s decidedly dysfunctional family, but she wasn’t lucky enough to get the role that time. Walter said that the show’s producers weren’t interested on her and that they weren’t seeing her for the role. "But they weren't seeing me," Walter recalled. "Yeah, tragic, isn't it?" she continued, with a sly smile. "It exposed me to a demographic of people who thought I was sick or dead," commented the 72-year-old Walter, who was probably best known for playing the stalker in Clint Eastwood's 1971 thriller "Play Misty for Me." At first, “Arrested Development” was just called “Arrested” and it was even cancelled by Fox Network last 2006 because of poor ratings, but now that they decided to put the show back, they decided that its debut will just be exclusive on Netflix. This new version of “Arrested” is structurally different from the first three because each of the episode of this new series is dedicated to catch viewers up on a single character. However, it is not Walters but Kristin Wiig who plays the role of the young Lucille here. Aside from Arrested Development, Walter also gets prestigious enterprise billing ("... and Jessica Walter") on another current series, the FX 'toon "Archer," which is something of a James Bond movie meeting TV's "The Office." Walter voices another mad mama, intelligence-agency chief Mallory Archer.
